Betty Ann Dumire Brinegar

The staff at Heishman Funeral Home send condolences to the family of Betty Ann Dumire Brinegar. Betty Ann Dumire Brinegar passed away peacefully with her family by her side after having given her life to Christ. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, hard work, and devotion to her family. A funeral service will be held Friday August 7, 2026, at 1:00pm at Valley Funeral Service in Edinburg. Pastor Randy Hayes will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Jackson Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Betty was born to Mr. and Mrs. Willis and Lulu Dumire (both deceased). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert W. Brinegar Jr., as well as her parents. She is also reunited in Heaven with those who went before her; brothers, Ernest, Earl and sisters, Helen, Erma, Janet, and Francis. She is lovingly survived by her son, David Brinegar and his wife, Melissa of Mt. Jackson, Virginia; her daughter, Bobbi Rosenberger of Mt. Jackson, Virginia; her granddaughter, Camryn Rosenberger of Mt. Jackson, Virginia; her grandson, Logan Rosenberger of Mt. Jackson, Virginia; along with many nephews and nieces. Betty spent the early years of her life in Preston County, West Virginia, and Garrett County, Maryland. As a young woman, she worked picking vegetables, was employed at Whitey's Truck Stop, and later worked in poultry processing in Oakland, Maryland. She married the love of her life, Robert Brinegar, and together they built a life centered on family. In 1971, they made their home in Mt. Jackson, Virginia, where they raised their family. A devoted homemaker, Betty poured her heart into caring for her children and supporting their many activities, including Girl Scouts, baseball, softball, band, flag corps, and Boy Scouts. She also opened her home as a babysitter, helping raise and nurture many children who have since grown into families of their own. Betty found joy in the simple blessings of life. She loved gardening, mowing the yard, and took great pride in keeping a warm, welcoming, and spotless home. Her kindness, work ethic, and unwavering love for her family left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Above all, Betty's greatest comfort was her faith in Jesus Christ. She departed this life peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind an example of faithfulness, selflessness, and unconditional love. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant... enter thou into the joy of thy lord." — Matthew 25:23 (KJV) She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and joyfully remembered until the day her family is reunited with her in the presence of the Lord.
