The staff of Heishman Funeral Home/Valley Funeral Service sends condolences to the family of James Cannon Hilton Sr. James Cannon Hilton Sr was born on December 2, 1946 to James William Hilton and Maxine Kay Kropp and was raised in Lorton, Virginia. In 1966, he graduated from Mount Vernon High school of Alexandria, Virginia. He would later meet the love of his life, Elizabeth Hilton, in Maryland during the year of 1975. They would go on to spend 49 beautiful years of marriage together. During those years, he spent 25 years driving a truck with the road name “Guitar Man” and after hanging up his hat, he worked at Walmart of Woodstock, Va in maintenance for 15 years. He went to be with the Lord on the early morning of May 23, 2025. He is proceeded in death by his father James William Hilton. He is survived by his twin brother William Kropp Hilton. His wife, Elizabeth Hilton and their children Carl (Shirley Cruise), Russel Cruise, James Jr (Michele Hilton) and Tessie (Scott Morey). Loved and remembered by his 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren with another on the way. Family night will be on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Heishman Funeral Home in Edinburg , Va from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Valley Baptist Church in Edinburg, Va at 11am. All who would like, are invited to join for the burial. There will be a meal provided by the church following burial at Valley Baptist. His final resting place will be at Mt. Jackson Cemetery, next to Triplett Tech, following the funeral service. The family would like to thank every staff member with Blue Ridge Hospice for their kindness, patience, and swift actions during his final hours. They would also like to thank all of the healthcare workers and doctors that provided excellent care during his hospital visits leading up to his transition to hospice and all of the friends and church members that have called, prayed, and brought meals to the home. Your kindness and love has been greatly appreciated in this time of mourning. Psalms 23:1-6 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
