The staff of Heishman Funeral Home/Valley Funeral Service sends condolences to the family of Jeremy R. Grear. This loss has been ineffable. Such a small amount of space for such a large amount of life. To write this, we had to put a bit of Jeremy’s personality with it. Jeremy R. Grear, age 40, unexpectedly closed his chapter of life on Friday, December 20th, 2024, leaving behind heartbroken family members and friends, three hundred seasonings, 14 boxes of macaroni noodles, and multitudes of other random items that would be proven helpful in the event of a zombie apocalypse. He loved to cook and had the amazing ability to create delicious marinades and sauces, which we may stingily hand out. He is survived by his mother, Lynn Grear; niece, Sadie Grear; sister and brother-in-law, Becki and Chris Hullihen; nieces and nephews, Deserae and JC Horn, Brayden Hullihen, Kobie Hullihen, and Skylar and Jeremiah Radabaugh; great niece and nephews, Elliot and River Radabaugh and Maverick Horn; sister, Jamie Grear; niece and nephews, Warren Neff, Jaxson Neal, and Emma Grear; and best friend, Josh Stanley and many, many other great friends. He is preceded in death by his niece, Ophelia Radabaugh. Jeremy attended multiple high schools due to his inability to restrain himself from a good time. This carried forward into his adult years I’m sure everyone who knew him will have an adventurous story to tell, which we would love to hear and will be given the chance to tell when we have his Celebrational Roast. Jeremy brought the party everywhere he went, and was never afraid to make mistakes that would inevitably lead to a good story to tell. Jeremy learned a secret that only the luckiest of us learn as early as he did; living a simple life and finding joy in the seemingly mundane - the extraordinary in the ordinary. He knew how to dream big, but never became unsatisfied with his life as it was. As his best friend and brother-in-law once said, “he never cared about the catch, just the hunt and good company.” He lived his life with contagious joy, bringing warm belly laughs to his favorite people, and was content with a day spent with family, friends, a good burger and cold beer. We will miss his 2 hour long conversations, which he seemed to never run out of things to say. His personality and laughter was contagious to everyone he met. He could bring a smile to your face and laugh along at you or with you. He had a great sense of humor and he had many stories to tell of his adventurous life that will live on in infamy. He was born with a naturally sweet and kind soul, a heart of gold, and was always a joy to be around. He was a hard worker and a jack of all trades and had a tool and the knowledge that could help you accomplish any project. He enjoyed many, many things. Among those things were collecting tools, hunting, fishing, golfing, shooting guns, flirting with girls he couldn’t or shouldn’t have, although his heart did belong to one, cold beer Yuengling or Blue Moon preferably, Peach Crown with Ice Tea, county music, divorced dad rock, camping and bon fires, cooking and grilling, the Eagles, his truck, and above all, his family and friends. Jeremy spent half of his time with his sister and brother-in-law, which were mostly referred to as the three amigos. The other half he enjoyed spending time with his Mom and niece Sadie, whom he loved and took care of altruistically and also with his work family at Rappahannock Petroleum. He was a wonderful Son, Brother, Uncle, Father-like Figure and friend to many. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest. He will be missed by everyone who had the privilege to know him, and even by strangers who would be blessed by his smile just passing him on the street. He will be forever in our hearts till we meet again. Because Jeremy celebrated life, no formal funeral service is being planned, instead, he will be honored with an outdoor Celebration of Life to be held at a later date at the Endless Caverns. Sharing your stories will be solace for his family. Revelation 21:4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.
