Kenneth William "Bubby" Dysart Jr.

The staff at Heishman Funeral Home, Inc. send condolences to the family of Kenneth William “Bubby” Dysart, Jr. Kenneth William “Bubby” Dysart, Jr., 76, of Woodstock, passed away March 21, 2024, at Winchester Medical Center, reaching the end of his Earthly journey and finding the peace he earned and desired. Bubby’s loss leaves a tremendous void in everyone who knew and loved him, but his memory will remain, ensuring he is never truly forgotten. Bubby was born April 9, 1947, in Woodstock, the son of Kenneth William “Bill” Dysart, Sr. and Mary Lee Dysart, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by the love of his life, Linda Holler, who passed away in May 2023. Bubby is survived by two children: son James Wren (Sarah) of Woodstock, and daughter Scarlett Keeton (Aaron) of Edinburg. Bubby is also survived by six siblings: Gloria Barb, Wilson Dysart (Tammy), Bobby Dysart (Carolyn), Judy Funkhouser (Jack), Lisa Minnick (Daryle) and Jeff Dysart (Christy). He was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Dysart and a brother, Bruce Dysart. Bubby had nine grandchildren, (Colton, Brenden, Savannah, Kayla, Grace, Samuel, Michael, Jacob and Isaac) along with nine nieces and nephews. Growing up in a large family, Bubby was perhaps the most imposing figure of them all with a booming voice that could be heard from the next county. However, he was a warm and giving soul with a heart made of gold. Bubby cared deeply for his family and close circle of friends, but he could make complete strangers feel like part of that circle with his kind and welcoming demeanor. A hard worker his entire life, Bubby spent a large part of his career traveling the country as a dedicated long-haul truck driver. When he retired from the trucking industry, Bubby remained active, spending his time as a cattle farmer and haymaker; activities that brought him great joy and provided a sense of fulfillment. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 26 from 6-8 p.m., and a funeral service officiated by Pastor Freddie Helsley, will be held March 27 at 11:00 a.m. both at Valley Funeral Service in Edinburg. Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Gardens in Woodstock. Pallbearers will be Tony George, Jimmy Reedy, Mike “Driver” Gray, Tommy Bowers, Billy Bushong, and Jeff Bushong. Honorary pallbearers will be Doris Wagner and Anna Davis. Bubby was a sharp dresser in his younger years, but he grew to appreciate the comfort of casual attire. He would insist that those attending his funeral dress comfortably as well.
