Shelby Dellinger Eye

The staff of Heishman Funeral Home/Valley Funeral Service sends condolences to the family of Shelby Dellinger Eye. Shelby Dellinger Eye, 87, of Edinburg, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025, at her home in Edinburg. A service will be held Saturday, December 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley Funeral Service in Edinburg. Reverend Terry Hendricks will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset View Memorial Gardens in Woodstock. Shelby was born April 7, 1938, at home in Edinburg, Virginia, daughter of the late Galen Jerome Dellinger, Sr., and Julia Fadely Dellinger. She was a 1956 graduate of Edinburg High School. Shelby formerly worked at the Woodstock Aileen Manufacturing Plant in the office and was co-owner of the Southern Lodge Restaurant in Woodstock. She was a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church. Shelby was married to the love of her life, Lawrence “Buck” Eye on October 19, 1958. She was a loving wife, mother and a wonderful friend to many. She enjoyed her monthly bridge games with friends, traveling, gardening and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence “Buck” Eye, a son, Steven L. Eye, her brothers Edsel Dellinger, Bill Dellinger, Jerry Dellinger, Mark Dellinger and a sister, Marion Mantz. Shelby is survived by two sons, Jeffery A. Eye and fiancée Terri Morrison of Woodstock, John Christopher Eye and wife Shelly Cullers Eye of Woodstock; daughter, Stacy E. Ritenour and husband Daniel of Woodstock; grandchildren, Corey Eye and wife Hannah, Kathryn Bennett and husband Ryan, Madeline Ritenour, Benjamin Ritenour, Allison Nauman and husband Dustin, Nathan Eye, Caroline Eye and Lauren Eye and great granddaughters, Amelia Eye and Hadley Eye. She is also survived by sisters, Anna Givens, Eleanor Cook and Sandra Green. Pallbearers will be Corey Eye, Benjamin Ritenour, Nathan Eye, Ryan Bennett, Dustin Nauman and Donnie Cook. The family will receive family and friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Valley Funeral Service prior to the service Saturday. The family would like to thank the staff at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital Critical Stepdown Unit for the care given during her recent stay there earlier this month.
