Shirley Ann Fadeley

The staff of Heishman Funeral Home/Valley Funeral Service sends condolences to the family of Shirley Ann Fadeley. On April 14, 2026, Mama Shirley, of Woodstock gained her wings. She was born in Mt. Jackson on March 22, 1938 to the late William and Mary Clem. She met Wayne Fadeley and they married on March 5, 1957 and started a beautiful family. Shirley was a homemaker and a wonderful cook. She loved her cats, watching birds and sitting outside enjoying nature. A graveside service will be held on Monday April 20, 2026 at Sunset View Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Fred Mauck will officiate. Pallbearers will be Mike Fadeley, Billy Fadeley, Donald Spiggle, Cory Spiggle, J.J Ritenour and Brayden Ritenour. Mama Shirley is survived by her loving children: Peggy Runion of Mt. Jackson, Judy Narcross of Mt. Jackson, Mike Fadeley (Faye) of Woodstock, Billy Fadeley of Woodstock, Cindy Spiggle (Donald) of Mt. Jackson, Rosie Scobie (Bruce) of Staunton and daughter in law Patty Fadeley of Edinburg. She was also blessed with six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren, a sister Bonnie Weakley and a brother Ronnie Clem (Debbie) and lots of nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by husband Wayne, her son Rex, her brothers William (Bill) Clem, Charles (Doug) Clem, sisters Joan Burger, Lily Clem and two son in laws JR Narcross and Benny Runion. Mama Shirley was a lover of life. She loved dancing with her husband, Wayne. They are dancing the Paul Jones now and if ya know ya know...she’s holding on for dear life! She loved playing UNO with her in-laws on Sundays. Her laugh was totally contagious. When she laughed her whole body laughed. For the last three years and nine months Mama Shirley has resided at Skyline Terrace Nursing Home. The family would like to thank each and everyone that had a hand in her care. We all witnessed the love that she was shown and care that was given. She was treated as one of your own...your mother, grandmother or sister. We appreciate everything and everyone beyond words. Mama Shirley did work at Skyline for a period of time and some that worked with her, remembered and cared for her. Momma was a woman who loved life, her children and the Lord. She was a member of Antioch Church of the Brethren. She led singing at church, taught class and was a youth leader. Mama Shirley didn’t want to leave her family, she proved that time and time again. They visited her daily and talked to her and relived their lives with her. She was hanging on to all our stories. Her journey down this road no one wants to take, lasted 12 and half years, but this woman road it out in style. Finally, the Lord said “Well done, my faithful servant. Your children have been raised well. Welcome home.” In Lieu of flowers, the family asked in donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Skyline Terrace Nursing home.
