The staff at Heishman Funeral Home Inc. send condolences to the family of Billy Dean Lloyd. Billy Dean Lloyd, 84, of Mt. Jackson, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021, at his home. Friends may sign the guest book on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, from 9-5 at Valley Funeral Service in Edinburg. Mr. Lloyd was born March 23, 1937, in Shenandoah County, son of the late Gladys Lloyd. He was a graduate of New Market High School. He served the community as a florist, starting at Valley Flower Shop in Woodstock, Bill’s Flower Shop in Mt. Jackson which he owned and operate for over 35 years, and Fussell Florist in Front Royal. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Mt. Jackson and the Mt. Jackson Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Johnson. Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Catherine Ryman Lloyd whom he married on August 27, 1960; two daughters, Brenda Louise Riffey of Mt. Jackson and Joe Riffey, and Jennifer Lynn Runyon of Strasburg and Warren Runyon; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Suite #405, Winchester, VA 22601, or Shenandoah County Animal Shelter, 268 Landfill Road, Edinburg, VA 22824. Bill loved gardening, fishing, bowling and animals. He spent his life serving the community. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
