Burns Martin Stottlemyer

September 20, 1947 - April 19, 2022

The staff at Heishman Funeral Home Inc. sends condolences to the family of Burns Martin Stottlemyer. Burns Martin Stottlemyer, 74, of Edinburg, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at his home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Valley Funeral Service in Edinburg. Pastor Larry Rinard will officiate. Burial is private. Mr. Stottlemyer was born September 20, 1947, in Baltimore, Maryland, son of the late Allen Stottlemyer Sr. and Grace Stottlemyer. He worked for 46 years at George’s as a diesel mechanic and worked at the Aileen Plant in Edinburg. He was preceded in death by his stepparents, Charlie and Lucille Greenwalt; daughters, Peggy Stottlemyer; and brother, JuneBug Ritchie. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Patsy Stottlemyer; children, Vickie Ortiz (Olivio), Peggy Clark (Bobby), Michael Stone, Terry Stottlemyer (Virginia), Randy Stottlemyer (Christy), Tela Klein (Aaron), Damion Shorts; sisters, Charlena Vernon, Lee Ely, Janie Conway, Dottie Romeo, Patricia Stone, Patsy Greenwalt; brothers, Allen Stottlemyer Jr., Billy Stottlemyer; twenty-three grandkids and sixteen great-grandkids. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Valley Funeral Service in Edinburg. Burns had a passion for being a mechanic which was evident by his willingness to help others work on their vehicles. The family would like to thank Nurse Laura from Blue Ridge Hospice for her compassion and care in taking care of Mr. Stottlemyer. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Suite #405, Winchester, VA 22601.
