Delores "Dee" Lorraine Seal Tisinger

May 28, 1947 - May 10, 2022

The staff at Heishman Funeral Home Inc. sends condolences to the family of Delores "Dee" Lorraine Seal Tisinger. Delores “Dee” Lorraine Seal Tisinger, 74, of Woodstock, Virginia passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. Born May 28, 1947, Dee was born in Woodstock, Virginia to Harold L. Seal, Sr. and Shirley Walker Seal. A lifelong resident of Shenandoah County, she graduated from Central High School in 1965. She always loved attending reunions and class gatherings and kept up with many special friends from her graduating class throughout her entire life. She thereafter worked for almost 30 years at Aileen in Edinburg, Virginia where she worked in the Payroll Department. With thousands of people employed there over the years, Dee was known as never forgetting the name of anyone working at the factory or where they worked in the factory. On April 5, 1969, she married Wayne Henry Tisinger of Woodstock, Virginia. Wayne was definitely the love of her life. Throughout their years together, both worked very hard to build their life and to always support their family unit. During a time period in the early 1990s when Wayne was near fatally injured in an industrial accident, Dee was a very faithful and devoted wife in his long-term recovery process. She was a “rock” during this difficult time period for her family. While they both worked very hard each and every day, they also enjoyed spending time with each other and enjoying the adventures of life. In the early years, they loved and enjoyed riding in fast cars, riding motorcycles, and spending time on weekends with family and friends, many times with picnics in the mountains. In later years, they absolutely were thrilled to become “world travelers.” They took great joy in traveling to many exotic locations including safari on several times in Africa and trips to portions of Asia. Even after Wayne passed away in 2012, Dee always could be heard talking of how much she loved Wayne and recounting stories of their great days together. While Wayne predeceased her in 2012, she is survived by their only daughter Amy Beth Tisinger of Woodstock, Virginia. Amy has always spoken of the amazing parents she was blessed to receive. She loved her parents dearly but liked them even more, always enjoying spending time with them. Amy is always heard talking of the values that her parents instilled in her indicating the role models they were to her in their conduct and spoken word. While her father Harold L. Seal, Sr., predeceased Dee as well, she is survived by her mother Shirley Walker Seal of Woodstock, Virginia; an older beloved brother Harold L. Seal, Jr. and wife Judy of Woodstock, Virginia; and a beloved younger brother Robert “Bob” L. Seal and wife Linda of Chattanooga, Tennessee. She is also survived by her uncle Elvin Walker of Saint Luke, Virginia. She is survived by many nieces and nephews from her side of the family, but she always had a very special bond with her niece Ashlee Seal Adkins of Knoxville, Tennessee who will always be her special “wild woman”. Dee’s father-in-law Clyde H. Tisinger and mother-in-law Mary “Virginia” Hollar Tisinger also predeceased Dee. Dee is survived by her sister-in-law Betty Lou Tisinger Richman and husband Robert Richman of Annandale, Virginia. Although a sister-in-law by marriage, Betty was a most special “sister” in fact. Over the years, Betty and Dee were the closest of family and friends. They so enjoyed spending time together. There are so many tales of their trips and adventures together that brought smiles to their faces each and every time the tales were told. As younger ladies, you could find them sporting their extreme high heels after their marathon shoe shopping trips. They were truly the best of “camel buddies”…only they seemed to know what that meant! Dee also had a very special connection to her niece Carla Richman Rogers and had much love for her great nephews Ashton Rogers and Bryce Rogers. Both of these young men brought great joy to her life and a smile to her face. Dee also leaves behind lifelong friends to her daughter Amy, namely Teresa Kibler Brunton and Laura Wisman. Both of these girls, now women, were what she called “daughters from another mother”. They were always with Amy growing up and had a special bond with Dee for sure. Dee also leaves behind her beloved four-legged family member poodle “Bon Bon”. He was truly her daily faithful companion and will miss her greatly. Dee will be remembered for the love of her church. A faithful and long-term member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, she served in many capacities and roles in the church. She was always a devoted and tireless worker for any of the church’s missions and projects. She believed wholeheartedly in her Christian faith and never feared her passing due to her religious beliefs. Dee was also a very skilled artist. She was very talented in crafts and specifically in card making. She enjoyed preparing extraordinary homemade cards and attending her card classes with a close-knit group of friends. I am sure that many people reading this will have received a special exquisite card from her made with love and special messages. She always spread her own brand of love through her special cards. Dee will also be remembered for her support of patriotic causes as well. Her husband having been a combat veteran in Vietnam, she loved to support veteran causes. She especially enjoyed the time she spent at the Edinburg VFW and Vietnam Veteran breakfasts and all the friends she had at those places. For those of you who knew Dee, when you think of her, you will immediately think of her smile and that boisterous laugh, filled with joy and the love of life. She will be remembered for her positive spirit and energy. She will be remembered for always being loving and supportive of her family and friends and being extremely loved by them as well. She will be deeply missed by all. A celebration of Dee’s life will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 11:00 am at Valley Funeral Service, 14116 South Middle Road, Edinburg, Virginia 22824. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, PO Box 310, Edinburg, Virginia 22824 or the VFW in Edinburg at 100 Veterans Way, Edinburg, Virginia 22824.
