Michael Eugene Corder, 76, of Fort Valley, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. Mike was born on March 8, 1945 in Washington, DC, the son of John Harry Corder, Sr and Josephine Firmwalt. Mike retired from Giant Food as a carpenter, was a 50+ year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, and proud member of the Liars Club of the Fort Valley Country Store. He is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Corder (2020); sisters, Ann Andrick and Jean Perry; brother, Buddy (John) Corder; and son, Michael Eugene Corder, Jr. He is survived by two daughters, Theresa Morris and Stacy O’Neal; two step-daughters, Jackie Keepers and Jo Ann Early; 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, and 3 step-great grandchildren. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Fort Valley Museum, 8631 Fort Valley Rd, Fort Valley, VA 22652 - a local organization that Mike and Dorothy treasured.
