The staff at Heishman Funeral Home Inc. sends condolences to the family of Patricia A. Griffin-Koch. Patricia A. Griffin Koch, 82, of Woodstock, Virginia, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at her home. A funeral mass and remembrance will be held Thursday, August 25, 10:45 a.m., at Saint John Bosco Catholic Church, Woodstock, Virginia, with Father Augustine Tran officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Gardens in Woodstock, Virginia. A bereavement reception will follow the burial at Saint John Bosco Catholic Church. All are welcome. Patricia was born February 9, 1940, in Boston, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Ernie and Cecilia Corrigan Young. She graduated Catholic High School in 1958 and began her career with Blue Cross and Blue Shield, dedicating over 30 years of service in Boston, Massachusetts and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as a Customer Service Representative, retiring in 1995. Patricia married Thomas “Tom” Griffin in 1959 and they were together in love until Tom’s passing in 1996. In 1999, Patricia married George F. Koch and they were together in love until George’s passing in 2010. Patricia enjoyed spending Saturdays with her husband, Tom Griffin, treasure hunting for antiques at garage sales and was Tom’s caretaker until his death. She loved all sports, especially football and tennis, rooting for her favorite teams from Boston and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame and any team featuring Tom Brady. Her favorite tennis player was George F. Koch, her late husband, who she cheered and supported during every serve, volley, point, set and victory. Patricia spent her later years helping those in need. Patricia is survived by her Niece, Maureen Earle (Griffin) of Pierson, Florida. Her Nephew, John “Jack” Thomas Griffin and his sons, Gage Griffin and Dylan Griffin of Palm Beach County, Florida. Her Cousin, Donna Marie Yerkes (Corrigan) of Holbrook, Massachusetts. Patricia was preceded in death by her first husband of 37 years, Tom Griffin and her second husband of 11 years, George F. Koch. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint John Bosco Catholic Church, 315 N.
