The staff at Heishman Funeral Home Inc. sends condolences to the family of Paul Ralph Wakeman. Paul Ralph Wakeman, 89, of Edinburg, passed away, Thursday, April 21, 2022, at his home. A funeral service will be held Monday, April 25, 2022, at Grace Baptist Church at 11:00am, a meal will follow the service at the church. Burial will be at Wakemans Grove Cemetery at 2:00pm. Pastor Ken Sparks will officiate. Mr. Wakeman was born June 29, 1932, in Lantz Mill, VA, son of the late Galen Franklin Wakeman and Maude Elizabeth Clem Wakeman. He graduated from Edinburg High School class of 1949 and was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Paul is preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Sue Wakeman and Faye Wakeman Wilson; and three brothers, Stanley, Ray, and Galen Wakeman. Mr. Wakeman is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mildred Cooley Wakeman; two sons, Ralph P. Wakeman and wife LeAnn of Woodstock and Jeff A. Wakeman and wife Becky of Edinburg; three brothers, Bobby (Betty), Nelson (Jama), and Wayne (Ruth) Wakeman; five grandchildren, Joyanna, Carolyn, Miles and Daniel Wakeman, and Michaela Bolles (Tommy); two great-grandsons, Spencer and Silas Bolles; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Sunday at Valley Funeral Service in Edinburg from 6-8pm.
