Reva Fay Clem Buchanan, 85, of Fort Valley, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Winchester Medical Center. A funeral service will be held Sunday, May 15, 2022, at 2:00pm at Valley Funeral Service in Edinburg. Pastors John Senters and Sherry Waddell will officiate. Burial will follow in Isaiah Clem Cemetery in Fort Valley. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Buchanan was born September 22, 1936, in Fort Valley, daughter of the late Brucie Rinker and Raymond Lee Clem. She was a 1955 graduate of Edinburg High School and retired from Cherry Point Marine Base in North Carolina. She was a member of Trinity Brethren Church and attended Oak Level Methodist Church. She was a life member of the VFW Post 2447 Ladies Aux., American legion Post #199, Woodstock Moose Chapter 1865 and Woodstock Moose Lodge 575. She was a proud member of the Relay for Life Team, the “Ole Ladies Brigade.” She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lorraine Buchanan; brother, Everett Munch and sisters, Betty Bernard, Ruby Swartz, Janet Gess, Treva Clinedinst and Linda Fitchett. Reva is survived by her son, Richard “Buck” Buchanan and wife Susan of Fort Valley; brother, Leon Clem (Jan); brother-in-law, Jim Swartz; sister-in-law, Claudette Munch; granddaughter, Janna Buchanan of Woodstock; step grandsons, Noland Foltz of Edinburg, Adam Gheen (Jamie) of Roanoke and Elijah Gheen (Whitney) of Strasburg; step great grandchildren, Isaiah Gheen, Savannah Gheen, Landon Gheen, Gavin Wright, Elizabeth Gheen, and Molli Sue Gheen as well as many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Adam Gheen, Elijah Gheen, Isaiah Gheen, Mick Clinedinst, Clay Clinedinst and Brandon Lamma. Honorary Pallbearer will be Landon Gheen. She loved singing and playing guitar with SBG (Singing Blessing of God) praising God through music. The love of bluegrass music took her to many different Bluegrass Festivals and going to Cooter’s with her friend Linda Barb. She liked sitting on the decks at home taking in the beautiful view of the Fort. She liked to keep up with family and friends by phone. She also enjoyed playing tabs and singing Karaoke.
