Sophie Funkhouser Jones Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sophie Funkhouser Jones, 82, of Mt. Jackson, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 16 from 6-8 p.m. at Valley Funeral Service in Bowmans Crossing. A private graveside service will be held at Hudson Crossroads Cemetery conducted by Pastor Todd Crowder. Mrs. Jones was born September 13, 1936, in Woodstock, daughter of the late Herbert Glaize Funkhouser and Winifred Jane Burner Funkhouser. She was a 1955 graduate of Woodstock High School and a farmer. She was a member of Maurertown Brethren Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Stevie Jones, and brother, Frank Funkhouser. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Tommy Key Jones, Sr. whom she married on June 4, 1955; three children, Rebecca Jones Ambrose and husband Gary of Mt. Crawford, Tommy Key Jones, Jr. and wife Frances of Timberville and Dean Jones and wife Elaine of Edinburg; brother Daniel Funkhouser and wife Mary of Woodstock; grandchildren, Jacob Jones, Stevie Jones, Dena Jones, Rhonda Burkett and Sabrina Ritchie; step-granddaughter, Heather Meyer; great-grandchildren, Karissa Jones, Ryan Burkett, Autumn Burkett, Carter Meyer, Gaige Lewis and Miles Williams and good friend, Melissa Richman. Pallbearers will be Jacob Jones, Stevie Jones, Dean Jones, Tommy Jones, Jr., Matthew Ritchie, and Chris Seitz. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Maurertown Brethren Church, P.O.
