Stanley David Stephens Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Stanley David Stephens, 88, of Fort Valley, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock. The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Fort Valley. Pastors Brian Duncan and James Cockram will officiate. Burial will follow in Sibert Cemetery in Fort Valley. Mr. Stephens was born September 12, 1928 in Shenandoah County, son of the late Dabney Thomas and Maude Edna Shipe Stephens. He was a retired maintenance worker from Luray Caverns Country Club and formerly worked with D.T. Stephens and Sons Timber Business. He was a member of Page Valley Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Irene Waters Stephens; four sisters, Gladys Walters, Helen Duncan, Catherine Neff and Mabel Ritchie and three brothers, Garland “Bud” Stephens and Alton “Tommy” Stephens and Carl Stephens. He is survived by son, Wayne Stephens and wife Diane of Singers Glen; two daughters, Betty Sue Stephens of Fort Valley and Bonnie Stephens Barton and husband Charles of Edinburg; three brothers, Lester, Charlie and Jerry Stephens all of Fort Valley; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Larry Walters, Adam Walters, Christopher Stephens, Trent Stephens, Travis Rogers, Alex Barton, Gage Walters and Dustin Smith. The family will receive friends Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Valley Funeral Service, 14116 S. Middle Road, Edinburg, Va. 22824 for burial expenses.
