William Edward Ball

The staff at Heishman Funeral Home Inc. send condolences to the family of William Edward Ball. William “Ed” Edward Ball of Woodstock, Virginia, born January 30, 1948 to the late Glenn C. Ball and Anna Louise Ball, passed way on September 12, 2021. Born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Springfield, Virginia, Ed attended Northern Virginia Community College and enjoyed a career in computer programing. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam, and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. Ed will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Diane, their two children, Elizabeth and Samantha, and two grandchildren. Ed is also survived by three siblings, Patti Murphy, John Ball and Karen Rust, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-niece and great-nephew. Ed is preceded in death by his step-brothers, Ted and Glenn Ball, Jr. Ed will always be remembered for his infectious laugh and his generous hugs. To Valley Vista residents, he was family, loved by everyone, and known as "Pappy". A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, Virginia.
