Betty Mauck Burner

Betty Lou Mauck Burner, age 67 of Woodstock went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, October 16, 2017. A Celebration Service will be held on Saturday October 21st at 2pm at First Baptist Church of Woodstock with Pastor Darryl George officiating. Burial will be at Columbia Furnace Cemetery in Edinburg, VA. A meal will follow at First Baptist Church in Woodstock. Betty was born on July 21, 1950. She was the daughter of the late Elmer Cecil Mauck and Sarah Jane Neff Mauck. Betty worked at Aileen and Blue Bell during high school. She was a fulltime Homemaker, Wife, and Mom. She enjoyed babysitting in her home as her own daughters grew up. She was a very loving wife and Mom who was totally devoted to her family. She always had a smile that brightened the whole room. She loved spending time with her family and her cat ""Sassy"". Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Betty always found the positive in every situation and wasn't judgmental. Betty always made you feel like you were at home and part of the family when you were with her. She was the perfect definition of a Virtuous Woman as described in Proverbs 31. She was very vocal about her faith and wanted everyone to know of her love for Christ. She loved singing and praising God and had a beautiful voice. She made it a point to witness to each doctor, nurse, and visitor who came into her hospital room. She accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized at the age of sixteen. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Woodstock. Betty and her husband Harry have been married for 47 years. They were the perfect role models of what marriage is intended to be. They would always be seen together, holding hands. They were often described as ""acting like newlyweds"" or ""lovebirds"" because of the love they showed for one another. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters Lorrie Anne Brown (Richard) of Woodstock, VA, and Melissa Renee Selby (TJ) also of Woodstock, VA. Her grandchildren, James Fadely, Katie Brown, Austin Brown, Kevin Selby, Sierra Waaga, David Waaga-Thorton, Emily Brown, and great-grandson Gideon Waaga. She is also survived by her sisters Karyn Smith (Sam) of Sierra Vista, Az.; Jenny Livingood (Joseph) of Mt. Jackson, Va.; and Wilma Coverstone (Gary) of Edinburg, Va. Pallbearers will be Tom Burner, Dick Burner, Dennis Burner, Bruce Burner, Gary Coverstone, and Joseph Livingood. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church in Woodstock on Friday, October 20th from 6-8pm.
