The staff of Heishman Funeral Home/Valley Funeral Service sends condolences to the family of Winnie Faye Nail. Winnie Faye Nail passed away January 11th, peacefully in her sleep, at her beloved home in Edinburg, VA. Born June 2, 1944, in Carroll County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Lettie Quesinberry Martin and Hubert Floyd Martin. Faye’s calling and greatest legacy was her unwavering love for her children and grandchildren. She was loving, honest, affectionate, fun, funny, tough and dependable. She gave the best hugs. She was loved by all who had the privilege to know her. She will be dearly missed. Faye loved to garden, both crops and flowers, she loved music, cooking, eating delicious food, taking naps and caring for the homes and properties in which she lived. She loved football and the Washington Redskins, particularly the “over the hill gang” of the George Allen era. Her work ethic was unmatched, and she had quite the green thumb. Cozy time by the fire watching football or with a book was her favorite, only rivaled by her love of sitting outside and enjoying the beautiful views of nature. While a large portion of her life was spent as a homemaker and stay at home mom with her children, before and after she held various jobs, showcasing her many talents and work ethic. Notable professions were beautician at Woodward & Lothrop and secretary at American Forest Supplies Association, both in Washington DC and prior to the birth of her first child. After her children were grown, she was a real estate agent at Town & Country Realty in Manassas, VA, was a receptionist and integral helper in all things at White Oak Nursery in Catharpin, VA and her final, longest stint was as receptionist and secretary at APAC Paving in Manassas, VA. Upon retirement, she along with her dear friend and love, Frank Magann, built their dream home on their dream property of dozens of acres in Edinburg. She would spend the last 20 years of her life there. Faye is survived by her children Michael Nail, Jeffrey Nail and Susan Anne Nail. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Madison Nail, Colby Nail and Katie Nail and by her daughters-in-law Susan Wright Nail and Sara Nail. Also, by her sister Sybil Turner, Frank Magann, ex-husband William Nail and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers William Lee Martin, Elton Martin, Ralph Martin and Hubert Floyd Martin Jr and sisters Willadeen Burke and Glenda Jeanette Fontes. Family, friends, and others whose lives Faye touched are invited to Heishman Valley Funeral Chapel on Sunday, January 19th. The address is 14116 S Middle Rd, Edinburg, VA 22824.
